Double Calculator — Tax & VAT

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of Double Calculator ("the App"), published by Eduard Bruch. By downloading, installing, or using the App, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the App.

1. Description of the App

Double Calculator is a dual-screen calculator application that provides two independent calculators on a single screen. The App includes VAT/tax rate calculations for over 40 countries, percentage operations, scientific calculator functions, and the ability to pin and label calculation results. The App is available as a one-time paid purchase with no in-app purchases or subscriptions.

2. License

Subject to your compliance with these Terms, Eduard Bruch grants you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to download, install, and use the App on devices that you own or control, for your personal, non-commercial use, in accordance with the Apple Media Services Terms and Conditions.

3. Financial and Tax Disclaimer

Double Calculator is a general-purpose calculation tool. It does not provide financial, tax, legal, or accounting advice. The VAT, sales tax, GST, and other tax rates included in the App are provided for convenience and informational purposes only. Tax rates may change without notice, and the App may not reflect the most current rates or all applicable rates for a given jurisdiction. You are solely responsible for verifying the accuracy of any tax calculation. Always consult a qualified tax professional or your local tax authority for authoritative guidance. Eduard Bruch assumes no liability for decisions made based on calculations performed in the App.

4. Calculation Accuracy

While the App uses precise decimal arithmetic to minimize rounding errors, no software can guarantee absolute accuracy in every scenario. Results should be verified independently for critical applications, including but not limited to tax filings, financial reporting, legal proceedings, and engineering calculations.

6. Intellectual Property

The App, including its design, code, graphics, icons, and user interface, is the intellectual property of Eduard Bruch and is protected by applicable copyright and intellectual property laws. You may not copy, modify, distribute, reverse engineer, decompile, or create derivative works of the App, except as expressly permitted by applicable law.

7. User Content

Labels, pinned results, and other content you create within the App are stored locally on your device. This content remains your property. We have no access to it and assume no responsibility for its preservation. Uninstalling the App or clearing its data will permanently delete this content.

8. Acceptable Use

You agree not to: (a) use the App for any unlawful purpose; (b) attempt to reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the App; (c) circumvent any technical limitations or protections of the App; or (d) use the App in any manner that could damage, disable, or impair the App.

9. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Eduard Bruch shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits, revenues, data, or goodwill, resulting from: (a) your use of or inability to use the App; (b) any errors in tax rates, calculations, or other information provided by the App; (c) any decision made in reliance on the App's output; or (d) any unauthorized access to or loss of your locally stored data. In no event shall our total aggregate liability exceed the amount you paid for the App.

10. Disclaimer of Warranties

The App is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied, including but not limited to implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that tax rates are current, complete, or applicable to your specific situation. We do not warrant that the App will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of harmful components.

11. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Eduard Bruch from any claims, damages, losses, liabilities, and expenses (including reasonable attorney's fees) arising out of your use of the App or violation of these Terms.

12. Governing Law and Jurisdiction

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Germany. If you are a consumer within the European Union, you also benefit from mandatory consumer protection provisions in your country of residence. The place of jurisdiction is Hamburg, Germany, except where mandatory consumer protection law provides otherwise. For EU consumers, the European Commission provides an online dispute resolution platform at https://ec.europa.eu/consumers/odr. We are neither obligated nor willing to participate in dispute resolution proceedings before a consumer arbitration board.

13. Severability

If any provision of these Terms is held to be invalid or unenforceable, that provision shall be limited or eliminated to the minimum extent necessary, and the remaining provisions of these Terms shall remain in full force and effect.

14. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Changes will be reflected on this page with an updated date. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms. For material changes, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page.

15. Apple Licensed Application End User License Agreement

These Terms are supplemental to, and do not replace, the Apple Licensed Application End User License Agreement. In the event of a conflict between these Terms and the Apple EULA, the Apple EULA shall prevail.
